Who’s June AND WHY IS SHE HIGH?

  • We started this band back in our very first week at East Carolina University. Back then it was Will Sain on lead guitar, and Hayden Church on drums. We were calling ourselves 311 at the time, yes, we know. For a while it was just us, a singer and rhythm guitarist. Then Ryon Gerringer joined on bass and proposed the name we know today, High June. We played wherever we could, backyard shows, frat parties, bar gigs, anything. After a couple of lineup changes, we realized we wanted to get serious about creating original music. That’s when Jack Flowers came in on vocals and James Barbee on rhythm guitar. From there, everything started clicking. We wrote, we recorded, and we played our hearts out. So far, we’ve released 11 original songs, racked up hundreds of thousands of streams, and reached listeners in over 100 countries, which still blows our minds.

  • We’re High June, a band born out of our love for the innovation and energy that shaped rock and roll. The name itself comes from a Led Zeppelin lyric, as a nod to the kind of legendary impact bands like them had on the scene. We aim to carry that same spirit forward with a modern, fresh take on a familiar sound. Each of us pulls influence from different corners of music: Guns N' Roses, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Slipknot, and plenty of artists outside of rock too. That mix of styles is what makes High June feel different. Every track takes on its own identity, shaped by our personalities and experiences.

  • From day one, we’ve believed that a live show should be more than just music. It should be an experience. A good show is about connection, energy, community, and having a good night out. We bring everything we’ve got to every stage we step on. The energy, the emotion, the sweat, and maybe a couple of beers. We know what it means for someone to spend their time and money to be there with us, and we never take that for granted. Our goal is always to make those nights unforgettable.

  • As a band, we’ve never been interested in sticking to one label or subgenre. That’s why you’ll hear everything from pop-punk anthems like “What I Need” to grungier, alternative tracks like “Someday”, and even softer, melancholic songs like “Let You Go.” What ties it all together is that it still sounds like us. Raw, emotional, and real. We’re constantly pushing ourselves to make music that feels fresh, honest, and true to who we are.

  • We’re just getting started. There’s more music coming, bigger shows on the way, and a growing community we’re proud to be a part of. If you’re reading this, come join the High June family. Let’s experience something real together.
